A 35mm film slide strip, c. 1920

A packed set of glass Magic Lantern slides might weigh over 22 lbs. (10Kg) and fill 240 Cubic inches. (4L).
A 35mm film slide strip may weigh 5 oz. (0,14Kg) and fill 3 Cubic inches, (0.05L.).

Production of film slide strips reduced costs for production and distribution, and catered to a market of lanternists who had a Cinematographe attachment for their Magic Lanterns.

Image quality suffers when production values are reduced.
